CARDIOVASCULAR AND INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY. Comparative Prospective Study of Load Distribution Projection Among Patients with Vertebral Fractures Treated with Percutaneous Vertebroplasty and a Control Group of Healthy Volunteers

Alexios Kelekis, Dimitrios K. Filippiadis, Chrysovalantis Vergadis, Maria Tsitskari, Nikolaos Nasis, Aikaterini Malagari, Nikolaos Kelekis

Purpose: Through a prospective comparison of patients with vertebral fractures and normal population, we illustrate effect of percutaneous vertebroplasty (PV) upon projection of load distribution changes.

AMERICAN JOURNAL OF ROENTGENOLOGY. Bone Subtraction 3D CT Venography for the Evaluation of Cerebral Veins and Venous Sinuses: Imaging Techniques, Normal Variations, and Pathologic Findings

Hyemin Seo, Dae Seob Choi, Hwa Seon Shin, Jae Min Cho, Eun Ha Koh and Seungnam Son

OBJECTIVE. Varying anatomic characteristics and clinical and radiologic manifestations are diagnostic challenges in the evaluation of the cerebral vein and of venous sinus diseases. The purpose of this article is to introduce bone subtraction CT venography and review normal variations and diseases involving the cerebral veins and venous sinuses.

AMERICAN JOURNAL OF ROENTGENOLOGY. Subarachnoid Hemorrhage: Beyond Aneurysms

Carrie P. Marder, Vinod Narla, James R. Fink and Kathleen R. Tozer Fink

OBJECTIVE. Spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) typically prompts a search for an underlying ruptured saccular aneurysm, which is the most common nontraumatic cause. Depending on the clinical presentation and pattern of SAH, the differential diagnosis may include a diverse group of causes other than aneurysm rupture.

NEURORADIOLOGY. Factors determining the success of endovascular treatments among patients with spinal dural arteriovenous fistulas

I-Chang Su, Karel G. terBrugge, Robert A. Willinsky, Timo Krings

Introduction: Despite improvements of embolization agents and techniques, endovascular treatment of spinal dural arterovenous fistula (SDAVF) is still limited by inconsistent success. The aim of embolization is to occlude initial portion of the draining vein by liquid embolic materials. This study investigates factors that contribute to the success of embolization treatments among SDAVF patients.
