CARDIOVASCULAR AND INTERVENTIONAL RADILOGY. Chemical Renal Denervation by Vincristine: The Role of the Flow Rate of Delivery

Christodoulos Stefanadis, Andreas Synetos, Costas Tsioufis, Maria Drakopoulou, Eleftherios Tsiamis, Dimitris Tousoulis, George Agrogiannis, Efstratios Patsouris, Konstantinos Toutouzas

Vincristine has been proven promising regarding its safety and efficacy for the renal artery denervation both in experimental models and in humans. The aim of the study was to compare in an experimental model the efficacy of constant versus random flow rate delivery of vincristine on renal sympathetic denervation.

CARDIOVASCULAR AND INTERVENTIONAL RADILOGY. Evaluation of Split Renal Function Before and After Renal Arterial Embolization for Angiomyolipoma Using Absolute Ethanol

Yasutaka Baba, Sadao Hayashi, Shunichiro Ikeda, Megumi Jinguji, Masatoyo Nakajo, Masayuki Nakajo

Transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE) with absolute ethanol is widely accepted as a therapeutic procedure for renal angiomyolipoma (AML). We aim to evaluate the split renal function before and after AE for renal AML by using 99m-technetium (99mTc)-mercaptoacetyltriglycine 3 (MAG3) renography.

CARDIOVASCULAR AND INTERVENTIONAL RADILOGY. Risk Factors for Rebleeding and Prognostic Factors for Postoperative Survival in Patients with Balloon-Occluded Retrograde Transvenous Obliteration of Acute Gastric Variceal Rupture

Ken Kageyama, Norifumi Nishida, Akira Yamamoto, Atsushi Jogo, Shinichi Hamamoto, Hiroto Matsui, Masahiro Tokunaga, Yukio Miki

Balloon-occluded retrograde transvenous obliteration (B-RTO) has shown great potential in controlling acute gastric variceal hemorrhage, although rebleeding related to the procedure may occur in a small percentage of patients. The purpose of this study was to identify risk factors of perioperative rebleeding and prognostic factors of postoperative survival in B-RTO performed for acute episodes of gastric variceal hemorrhage.

CARDIOVASCULAR AND INTERVENTIONAL RADILOGY. Improved Hypertrophy of Future Remnant Liver after Portal Vein Embolization with Plugs, Coils and Particles

Dominik Geisel, Maciej Malinowski, Maciej-Janusz Powerski, Joost Wüstefeld, Victoria Heller, Timm Denecke, Martin Stockmann, Bernhard Gebauer

To retrospectively analyze efficacy as measured by volume gain of future remnant liver (FRL) after right portal vein embolization (PVE) using particles only versus particles and additional central plug and/or coil (CP/C) embolization.
