Objective: For evaluation of primary aldosteronism, international guidelines recommend a 4–6 week withdrawal of spironolactone, eplerenone, and amiloride prior to adrenal vein sampling (AVS). It is not always feasible to withdraw these drugs in patients with severe hypertension and hypokalemia. We present our experience evaluating the efficacy and clinical outcomes of a 2-week protocol for withdrawal of renin-stimulating antihypertensives prior to AVS.
Purpose: In patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), limited therapeutic options are available for portal hypertension resulted from portal vein tumor thrombus (PVTT). We aimed to determine safety and efficacy of TIPS for treatment of symptomatic portal hypertension in HCC with PVTT.
Purpose: Combined hepatocellular-cholangiocarcinoma (cHCC-CC) is a rare mixed cell type primary liver cancer with limited data to guide management. Transarterial radioembolization with yttrium-90 microspheres (RE) is an emerging treatment option for both hepatocellular carcinoma and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. This study explored the safety and efficacy of RE for unresectable cHCC-CC.
Purpose: Hepatic metastasis from melanoma represents a therapeutic dilemma, with limited effective options for the 85% of cases deemed unresectable. Systemic agents confer toxicity and, along with traditional local hepatic arterial-directed therapies such as transarterial chemoembolization, have not led to a significant increase in survival. The aim of this study was to investigate the safety and dose-limiting toxicity of DEBDOX for the treatment of unresectable hepatic metastases from melanoma.
Objectives: To evaluate the rate of short-term complications associated with microwave ablation of lung tumors located near the heart.
Purpose: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of the hook wire system in the simultaneous localizations for multiple pulmonary nodules (PNs) before video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS), and to clarify the risk factors for pneumothorax associated with the localization procedure.
Purpose: To determine the rate, clinical significance, and predictors of delayed pneumothorax after CT-guided lung biopsy.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy and safety of percutaneous sclerotherapy for non-parasitic splenic cysts (NPSCs). The secondary aims were to introduce puncture-aspiration-injection-reaspiration (PAIR) technique in the treatment of NPSCs and to compare multiple- and single-session techniques.
Aim: To present a new blunt-tip coaxial needle (SoftGuard) applied to access “hard-to-reach” targets undergoing percutaneous image-guided biopsy or drainage.
Purpose: To assess the feasibility and safety of transperineal laser ablation (TPLA) for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess the technical feasibility of ultrasound-guided endovascular creation of a percutaneous extraluminal arterial bypass graft without a surgically created arterial anastomosis.
Purpose: To describe the techniques, outcomes and complications of CT-guided transosseous biopsy of soft tissue lesions via multiple different routes.
Purpose: To report the safety and short-term efficacy of percutaneous image-guided cryoablation performed as second-line therapy of venous vascular malformations (VVM) of extremities.
Background: To investigate the use of uterine artery embolization (UAE) to manage ectopic pregnancies that are refractory to systemic methotrexate (MTX) therapy and plagued by persistently high serum ß-human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG) levels and vaginal bleeding. The safety and efficacy of UAE were addressed.
Purpose: This study was designed to present our preliminary experience with the Roadsaver® double-layer micromesh (DLM) stent in the endovascular treatment of supra-aortic and visceral aneurysms and to utilize the flow-diverting effect of this new design in the treatment of these aneurysms.
