Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement With Self-Expanding ACURATE neo2: Postprocedural Hemodynamic and Short-Term Clinical Outcomes

Andrea Buono, Riccardo Gorla, Alfonso Ielasi, Giuliano Costa, Ottavia Cozzi, Marco Ancona, Francesco Soriano, Marco De Carlo, Erica Ferrara, Francesco Giannini, Mauro Massussi, Luca Nai Fovino, Gaetano Pero, Luca Bettari, Elena Acerbi, Antonio Messina, Carmelo Sgroi, Mariano Pellicano, Jinwei Sun, Francesco Gallo, Antonio Gabriele Franchina, Francesco Bruno, Roberto Nerla, Matteo Saccocci, Emmanuel Villa, Fabrizio D’Ascenzo, Federico Conrotto, Claudio Cuccia, Giuseppe Tarantini, Claudia Fiorina, Fausto Castriota, Arnaldo Poli, Anna Sonia Petronio, Jacopo Oreglia, Matteo Montorfano, Damiano Regazzoli, Bernhard Reimers, Corrado Tamburino, Maurizio Tespili, Francesco Bedogni, Marco Barbanti, Diego Maffeo, and on behalf of the ITAL-neo Investigators

Background The first-generation ACURATE neo transcatheter heart valve (THV) (Boston Scientific) was associated with a non-negligible occurrence of moderate or greater paravalvular aortic regurgitation (AR) following transcatheter aortic valve replacement. To overcome this issue, the ACURATE neo2 iteration, which incorporates a taller outer skirt aimed at reducing the occurrence of paravalvular AR, has recently been developed.

Commissural Alignment After Balloon-Expandable Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement Is Associated With Improved Hemodynamic Outcomes

Matthias Raschpichler, Nir Flint, Sung-Han Yoon, Danon Kaewkes, Chinar Patel, Chetana Singh, Vivek Patel, Mohammad Kashif, Michael A. Borger, Tarun Chakravarty, and Raj Makkar

Background Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is generally performed without control over the alignment of the bioprosthesis to the native aortic valve (AV) commissures. Data on the impact of commissural misalignment (CMA) on the clinical and hemodynamic outcome after TAVR are scarce

Diagnostic Performance of CCTA and CT-FFR for the Detection of CAD in TAVR Work-Up

Joyce Peper, Leonie M. Becker, Hans van den Berg, Willem L. Bor, Jorn Brouwer, Vincent J. Nijenhuis, Dirk-Jan van Ginkel, Benno J.M.W. Rensing, Jurrien M. ten Berg, Leo Timmers, Tim Leiner, and Martin J. Swaans

Background The work-up for transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) currently uses computed tomography to evaluate the annulus diameter and peripheral vascular access plus invasive coronary angiography (ICA) to assess significant coronary artery disease (CAD). ICA might partially be redundant with the use of coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA). Prior studies found an improvement of the diagnostic accuracy of CCTA with the use of computed tomography–derived fractional flow reserve (CT-FFR).
