Neuravi announces €19m in financing to advance innovative minimally invasive stroke therapy

Neuravi has completed a Series B financing of €19m (US$21m) to advance the company’s minimally invasive thrombectomy device for acute ischaemic stroke, the EmboTrap revascularization device. The round was led by European private equity firm Life Sciences Partners (LSP), with participation from returning Series A investors Fountain Healthcare Partners, Delta Partners and the Western Development Commission.

US stroke patients receiving better and more timely care

One in four acute ischaemic stroke patients treated with a time-dependent clot-busting drug were quickly transferred from an emergency department or smaller community hospital to a certified stroke centre, according to research presented at the American Stroke Association’s International Stroke Conference 2015 (Nashville, USA, 11–13 February, 2015). This study will also be published simultaneously in the American Heart Association’s journal Stroke.
